Some will say that Kobe has Jordan's game with a better jump shot and extra Fluency.

But Lebron could be better then both of them if his jumpshot improves.

I cant front Kobe is my favorite player but he's nt better than MJ..MJ career and playoff average was sick..Kobe would need to have 7 rings before ppl really start to believe he's better than MJ

hhhmmm,i dunno, in my mind MJ is better.
It's hard to compare players in different era's/scenarios.
Honestly, probably neither is the G.O.A.T.
that's probably someone like Wilt Chamberlin.

Just watch and learn. There's times where he is constantly doubled and even tripled but still hitting the shots in their faces.

How?.Russell has more rings so you can't go by that.Mike once averaged 8 boards & 8 assists along with over 30+ point a game for AN ENTIRE SEASON.That's near a triple double.Kobe will go down as one of the greats, but he's NOT going to be better than Mike. That's MY OPINION.

If Kobe wins 4 titles being the man then he can be in the discussion. Right now he's got 3 being the sidekick, 1(maybe 2) being the man on the squad.

Jordan was undeniably the man on every team he was on and the other guys fed off of him. Let's see if Kobe can win more than 1(2?) under this scenario.

Obviously this is not about rings because if that was the case Russell would be the goat and not Jordan. My Grandfather was a big fan of the old school players but as he got older and watched guys like Lebron play he did admit that he thought that only a handfull of the older players would even be able to compete now days due to the evolution of the human being (athlete). As much as I hate to admit it Kobe does appear to have Jordans game with the ability to make it look even more easy then MJ. This could be due to the fact that maybe Jordan played harder then Kobe and that alters my perception.

Noyd I understand your point but what you need to realize is that teams are now stacked with star players not like the Jordan "era" when teams only had 1 or 2 all-stars per team. The 2010 Finals has at least 8 all-star players in it. I understand its hard for people to admit the new players are better then the old players.

The person who said Kobe won alot of his rings/achievemnets as part of a duo, where Jordan was dolo - my thought exactly.

And it's good 2 account for human beings getting bigger/stronger/more athletic each generation but at the same time you can account for it in a total different way.
Instead of saying LeBron is more explosive then "insert name here"; you can say the comparison is like an unleveled playing field, therefore not fair to the older players, cuz if Dr. Jay was born in 1990 ; he'd probably be built like a more athletic version of Yao.Both look at how athletes get more dynamic as time goes on, but this is a different spin on it...

I'm not trying 2 chime in on anybody here.

But another thing is , take in consideration the level of competition MJ had.Magic,Bird,Isiah,Hakeem,Barkley,Malone,Robinson,Ewing + i'm sure i'm leaving out mad names....

There might never be that much of a pool of talent in the NBA ever again.

+ the rule changes.Back in the day you would play against Oakley or Jason Williams (the NJ cat; not the point guard). And they were allowed to be waaay more physical, you really had to earn those points and take lumps to get them..

i'm just saying....

There is far more talent in the league then that right now in 2010.
